About Us:

Team Cobra Jiu-Jitsu has a unique class curriculum rooted in analysis and application.

We evaluate our student’s strengths to modify drills and techniques. In turn, our community learns how to adapt or modify their skills to situations both on and off the mat. Our History:

Owner Zach Shiomos first began training in Tang Soo Do in 2004, then started training BJJ, Muay Thai, and MMA in 2011. He began teaching just four years after that.

Throughout his journey he trained amongst highly skilled champions and competed in MMA in Japan from 2013-2017. This time abroad allowed him to realize what he wanted to bring forth in his dream of owning a BJJ school. He wanted his students to learn Jiu-Jitsu applicable for both sport and self-defense, rather than just going through the motions. In February 2024, Zach opened Team Cobra Jiu-Jitsu and continued to live out his passion and dream. As the school grows Zach aims to continue building the community.

Our Adults Program is designed for anyone aged 14 and up, offering a comprehensive and dynamic training experience in both Gi (traditional uniform) and Nogi (rashguard & shorts/spats) Jiu-Jitsu. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced practitioner, our program has something for everyone.

Program Classes

Fundamentals (Nogi)
These classes are perfect for beginners and those looking to strengthen their foundational skills. You’ll learn the basic techniques, positions, and concepts essential to Jiu-Jitsu.

Advanced (Gi & Nogi)
Designed for more experienced students, these classes delve deeper into advanced techniques, strategies, and positional sparring.

All Levels (Gi & Nogi)

This class is suitable for all students from white to black belt. These classes go over concepts and live games that help students improve regardless of their skill level.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) isn’t just for adults. In fact, it’s the perfect activity for kids! When it comes to self defense, BJJ empowers a smaller individual to fight against a larger opponent.

At Team Cobra Jiu-Jitsu, our Kid’s (Ages 7-12) Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program is designed to introduce children to the exciting world of martial arts while instilling important values such as discipline, respect, and self-confidence. Our experienced instructors create a positive and engaging learning environment where youths can develop both physically and mentally.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is one of the most effective forms of self-defense, making it an empowering choice for women of all ages. At Team Cobra Jiu-Jitsu, our Women’s BJJ program is designed to provide a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment where women can build strength, improve fitness, and learn practical self-defense skills. With a focus on technique over size and strength, our classes help women feel more confident both on and off the mats.

At Team Cobra Jiu-Jitsu, our Striking Program is built on the foundations of Muay Thai and kickboxing, giving students a powerful and well-rounded stand-up skillset. Training focuses on effective combinations, proper technique, and conditioning, all in a supportive and motivating environment.

Whether your goal is to improve fitness, learn practical self-defense, or prepare for competition, our Striking classes will challenge you, build your confidence, and take your martial arts journey to the next level.
